Pavia is a city of about 70,000 inhabitants characterized by a history that is intertwined with that of one of the oldest universities in the world, which is now 660 years old. The local scenario shows a consistent and widespread presence within the city of Pavia that is unique in the national setup and can therefore be taken as a meaningful case study to analyze the historical dynamics of settlement, the current scenario and possible future development strategies. The 17 colleges of Pavia differ from each other in the period of construction, history, type of building and users, but they constitute, despite their specificity and recognizability, a network of connected structures able to offer not only hospitality and residency but also a system of services connected to the residence such as places of refreshment, for sports, study and cultural training. Despite being the local model still effective, the pandemic has however changed in general the ways of living and working of all and simultaneously to enjoy the city and the colleges. This aspect leads, there-fore, to a general analysis on how to possibly update the system of colleges in terms of infrastructure but also of proposals and services offered. The requests to update the spaces of the colleges in terms of quality and building standards, both to increase the offer in terms of beds available, led the Agency that manages the colleges for the University to the development of some projects as part of a wide national action to strengthen the offer of university residency, being implemented at the time of writing this contribution.

Abstract
The requests to update the spaces of the colleges in terms of quality and building standards, both to increase the offer in terms of beds available, led the Agency that manages the colleges for the University to the development of some projects as part of a wide national action to strengthen the offer of university residency, being implemented at the time of writing this contribution.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
