The purpose of this paper is to discuss the design and the performances of a new, innovative type of Proton Recoil Telescope builded to measure neutron fluence and spectra in different nuclear physics applications. The PRT detector features a low energy threshold (few MeV) and wide dinamical range (up to hundreds MeV), good energy resolution with a reasonably high efficiency and a compact structure. The results of a first in-beam measurement on the main reaction 13C(d,n) with a 40 MeV deuteron beam, at the Laboratori Nazionali del Sud (LNS), Catania, Italy, are discussed. A comparison between the obtained neutron yield as a function of energy and the available data of the reaction 13C(p,n) at 40 MeV, is shown.

Abstract
A comparison between the obtained neutron yield as a function of energy and the available data of the reaction 13C(p,n) at 40 MeV, is shown.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
