The contribution focuses on the initial tests conducted within the interdisciplinary project PRIN 2022 “GO-IN! diGital platfOrm for INner areas. Interactive virtual platforms for the enhancement of fragile contexts and their cultural heritage”. The paper specifically describes the documentation actions from archival research to fast survey acquisition using laser scanner mobile and UAV systems, and the digital transposition developed on the built environment of a sample area within the small historic center of Stigliano (MT) in Basilicata. The activities carried out by the three universities involved, aim to define an effective and replicable methodology for other contexts, leading to the creation of reality-based semantic 3D models that can be entered and queried in a 3D GIS system, or can become a scenario for a virtual web-based platform. In this way, by integrating different types of data into a single digital system, it becomes possible to facilitate the management and preservation of tangible and intangible values that are currently disappearing.
