The paper aims to reconsider the Isthmus area of Ortygia, Syracuse, in order to try to reconstruct divine rituals and social identities through the analysis of the assemblages of the votives found during the excavations of the Apollonion and the wells of via dei Tolomei, along the Noth-Eastern coast of the island. The materials recovered by Paolo Orsi in via dei Tolomei seem to address to a Nymphs’ cult, but some identical types recur in the deposits of the Apollonion as well as in the Credito Italiano.

Abstract
The paper aims to reconsider the Isthmus area of Ortygia, Syracuse, in order to try to reconstruct divine rituals and social identities through the analysis of the assemblages of the votives found during the excavations of the Apollonion and the wells of via dei Tolomei, along the Noth-Eastern coast of the island. The materials recovered by Paolo Orsi in via dei Tolomei seem to address to a Nymphs’ cult, but some identical types recur in the deposits of the Apollonion as well as in the Credito Italiano.File in questo prodotto:
