This paper focuses on the use of 3D modeling for showing the over-time evolution of Mirabello Castle, site of the 1525 Battle of Pavia. Goal of the project is to renew the interest towards a valuable cultural site and to draw attention to the need for building maintenance. The castle, still partly standing, was originally built between 1325 and 1341 and underwent several adaptations over the centuries. The 3D models realized show its structural and artistic changes occurred in three historical periods: 15th, 16th and 19th centuries. Source data have been collected from textual documentation, historical maps, photographic archives, and on-site visits.

Abstract
This paper focuses on the use of 3D modeling for showing the over-time evolution of Mirabello Castle, site of the 1525 Battle of Pavia. Goal of the project is to renew the interest towards a valuable cultural site and to draw attention to the need for building maintenance. The castle, still partly standing, was originally built between 1325 and 1341 and underwent several adaptations over the centuries. The 3D models realized show its structural and artistic changes occurred in three historical periods: 15th, 16th and 19th centuries. Source data have been collected from textual documentation, historical maps, photographic archives, and on-site visits.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
