The aim of this work was to study the mechanisms and kinetics of organic matter degradation by Wet Oxidation (WO). A real liquid waste characterized by high organic matter content (initial concentration of COD: 50,000 mg/L) was submitted to WO, also in presence of homogeneous catalysts (Cu2+, Fe2+, Mn2+). Kinetics of degradation of COD and TOC were studied by developing a conceptual model of the main reaction mechanisms. The effect of temperature on degradation rate constants was also estimated.

Abstract
The aim of this work was to study the mechanisms and kinetics of organic matter degradation by Wet Oxidation (WO). A real liquid waste characterized by high organic matter content (initial concentration of COD: 50,000 mg/L) was submitted to WO, also in presence of homogeneous catalysts (Cu2+, Fe2+, Mn2+). Kinetics of degradation of COD and TOC were studied by developing a conceptual model of the main reaction mechanisms. The effect of temperature on degradation rate constants was also estimated.File in questo prodotto:
