The solid state synthesis and thermal characterization (thermal analysis and calorimetry) of CuFe2O4 prepared from milled mixtures of composition Cu(OH)2 •CuCO3 – 4 FeC2O4•2H2O are described. A comparison with the behaviour of physical mixtures with the same composition is done. X-Ray diffraction analysis helps in the understanding of the reaction mechanism.
