A low cost portable acquisition system for acquiring and processing human physiological parameters, based on Digital Signal Processor (DSP), is presented. It has 16 input channels, each linked to an external transducer by suitable connector. Signals from the transducers are A/D converted by 10 bit A/DC integrated into the DSP. Data are stored in a removable, compact, flash memory. Acquisition mode is programmed from a host PC. The instrument is also equipped with a LCD display, showing the evolution of the parameters of interest in real time. The instrument has been mainly used in rehabilitation medicine, to assess human motor performance and other physiological parameters.
