The EUROMED Invest Academy «New innovation networks and Role of Business Support Organizations" was organized in the framework of the EUROMED Invest project by the Heraklion Chamber of Commerce and Industry in cooperation with CEEBA and AFAEMME, with the coordination of the Med Alliance Consortium (ANIMA Investment Network, ASCAME, Eurochambres and the EMDC “Euro-Med Development Center for micro, small and medium Enterprises” Foundation). The Academy included two parallel seminars on “Foreign Direct Investment promotion & Investors Servicing” and “Business support services for existing SMEs & new entrepreneurs” aiming to present FDI opportunities, classical investment methods and funds, private support agencies support, new innovation networks and clusters and to promote mutual understanding and new ways of working. In this framework, the Italian Forum on Industrial Biotechnology and Bioeconomy was introduced as an example of "best practice" to enhance the cooperation between research centres (Universites) and Industry aimed at pursuing innovation, economic development, training of specialized personnel through a joint effort.
