Il Museo con la valigia, un progetto per avvicinare nuovo pubblico alla cultura

The museum with the suitcase, a project to bring the public closer to culture. The Natural History Museum of University of Pavia has started a new project to meet the people outside the halls of museum and the usual educational programs. The objectives of the project were: to promote a stimulating and interactive approach to the scientific collections through the activation of recreational and manipulative laboratories; promote the participation of disadvantaged groups of users; enhance the ability of the museum to show up in a flexible and diversified way. For the realization of the project we set up a mobile laboratory inside two large suitcases identifiable with the title “The Museum with the suitcase.” The project, funded by the CARIPLO Foundation and the Province of Pavia, was undertaken in 2011 and has obtained excellent results which immediately prompted us to propose it again, with slight modifications, in the following years.
