Abstract

In this paper, multi-layer phantoms of the human breast, obtained from recipes previously proposed by some of the authors of this work, are presented. Heterogeneous and multiple-layer phantoms allow the performance evaluation of microwave-based medical devices on increasingly realistic scenarios. The proposed two-steps preparation procedure is very simple and involves cooling part of the phantom. It has been shown that this does not alter the dielectric properties of the individual layers.
